The operational interface between the driver and the train.
To enable the driver to set the running mode of the train i.e. restricted forward or reverse speed for shunting, full speed manual, intermediate, auto and shut-down. These functions are selected using a six position selector knob driving a gear linked multi-bank array of rotary switches.
A key operated security interlock must be unlocked before the operating knob can be moved from the shut-down position. The key is trapped until the selector is returned to the shut-down position.
